Wyatt Pettus, Suzy Graham and Sylvia Overton were sworn into new three-year terms during the Graham Hospital District’s May 21 meeting of the board of directors.

Incumbents Graham and Pettus ran uncontested in the May general elections. Overton also ran uncontested in the election after incumbent Michael Carmichael chose not to run for reelection. Overton has been serving on the board since March, replacing Carmichael after he resigned from his position.

The trio made their terms official by reading and signing the statement of officer and oath of officer.

“In the name and by the authority of the state of Texas, I, (name), do solemnly swear or affirm that I will faithfully execute the duties of the office of the Graham Hospital District Board of Directors of the State of Texas,” the trio recited. “And will do the best of my ability to preserve, protect and defend the constitution and laws of the United States and this state so help me God.”

After the swearing-in ceremony, the board elected to keep the officers of the board the same. Wyatt Pettus remained Chairman, Doctor Donald Behr as Vice Chairman, Terry Bishop as Finance Chairman, Tammy Whittenburg as Secretary and Barrie Strickland as Compliance Committee Representative.
