Texas Parks and Wildlife Department pushed their award meeting to August for grants released through their local parks grant program, according to a representative from Jacob Martin, LLC, which was the engineering company authorized by the city of Graham to apply for TPWD grants.

The city is attempting to obtain TPWD matching grants which will allow them to make improvements to the local parks. The city received $1.3 million from the Brazos River Authority for park improvement projects in June 2018.

The money received from the BRA was for the Salt Creek Park project to turn the floodplain along Salt Creek into a park for the city with a waiver of liability to the BRA. The city council approved the 2019 Park Improvement Executive Summary prepared by Jacob Martin and approved them to apply for TPWD grants in October 2019.
