Two dead in head-on vehicle wreck outside Graford on Hwy. 337

A head-on, two-vehicle wreck north of Graford resulted in the death of a Graham and Weatherford man Tuesday, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

At approximately 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, DPS investigated a two-vehicle fatal wreck which occurred on Hwy. 337 north of Graford, according to a release from DPS Sergeant Richard A. Hunter. According to the preliminary investigation performed by DPS, a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Kenneth Lee Askew, 58, of Graham, was traveling north on Hwy. 337 at a high rate of speed and attempted to pass several vehicles when conditions were unsafe.

The Chevrolet Camaro struck another vehicle, a 2017 Ford van, driven by Jared D. Kinnison, 38, of Weatherford,  head-on in the southbound lane of Hwy. 337. Both of the vehicles caught on fire and burned. Both drivers died at the scene, according to DPS.

No other information was available as of Thursday at press time, according to the DPS Sergeant Hunter.
