A vehicle pursuit Friday started in Graham and ended in Archer County with four law enforcement agencies involved in the arrest.

At around 11:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, Graham Police Officer Riley Acosta saw a white Nissan Altima traveling at high speeds at the intersection of Pine Tree Road and Walmart Drive, according to a release by GPD. The vehicle, later identified as being driven by Antonio Javier Jimenez, 19, of Graham, continued to travel west on Pine Tree Road and north onto S. Hwy. 16. Jimenez turned the vehicle north and was driving in the middle of the roadway.

Officer Acosta was able to catch up to the vehicle and turned on his emergency lights to signal Jimenez to stop his vehicle. Jimenez failed to yield and continued traveling north on S. Hwy. 16. The officer activated his siren and all emergency equipment on his vehicle and Jimenez continued to not yield to the officer. The officer pursued the vehicle north on S. Hwy. 16 through Graham until Jimenez turned east on N. Hwy. 16 toward Loving.

During the pursuit through Graham, Young County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Joshua Gallardo pulled behind Officer Acosta to assist in the pursuit of the vehicle. Officer Acosta continued to pursue Jimenez in the vehicle through the intersection of Hwy. 114 and N. Hwy. 16. The pursuit continued to the intersection of N. Hwy. 16 and U.S. 281, where Jimenez turned north onto U.S. 281.
