William Dale Huffman Jr., of Graham, was charged Aug. 22 with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, by Federal Drug Task Force officials. The charge stems from a drug distribution investigation involving the Graham Police Department, Young County Sheriff’s Department, Texas Department of Public Safety and law enforcement partners within the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency If convicted, Huffman could be sentenced to federal prison for a substantial period of time. Prior to his arrest by federal officials, he was sentenced to five years’ incarceration in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division on Aug. 15, by 90th Judicial District Judge Stephen Bristow after violating the terms and conditions of his deferred adjudication probation related to an obstruction or retaliation charge. “(I) would like to thank those local, state and federal law enforcement officers whose investigation led to the charges against Mr. Huffman, Dee Peavy, 90th Judicial District Attorney for Stephens and Young counties, said in a press release. “Such investigations are a valuable tool available to the District Attorney’s office and local law enforcement helping to keep a check on drug distribution activity with Young and surrounding counties.”
