Frederick Datcher, Jr., 19, was arrested Thursday night following a vehicle pursuit which began in Young County and ended in Archer County by the Young County Sheriff’s Office. No damages or injuries were reported in the pursuit, according to YCSO Sheriff Travis Babcock.

The pursuit began in Young County in  the Loving area of Hwy. 114 and Red Top Road when a YCSO deputy attempted to stop a blue 2017 BMW for speeding. The driver fled in excess of 130 mph from the deputies and turned off his vehicle headlights. The pursuit lasted approximately 20 miles before the suspect pulled over his vehicle before the Archer City limits, according to Babcock. According to the Young County blotter, the pursuit began at approximately 9:12 p.m. and the scene was cleared at approximately 11 p.m.

The driver of the evading vehicle, from the Wylie area, was booked and later released from the Young County Jail on a charge of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, with a bond of $10,000. This charge is classified as a Class A Misdemeanor under Sec. 38 of the Texas Penal Code, which can be punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, one-year confinement in jail or both.
