Young County continues push to fill out 2020 Census packets

Graham, Young County and state leaders are continuing to remind residents to fill out their 2020 Census form, as Graham has 61.6% self-response rate and Young County is sitting at a 54.1% self-response as of Tuesday, June 16.

The census is something that the United States does every ten years to help count every person in every state and territory. This data is used to help states and federal governments reallocate funding and reapportion districts.

“It is important that you fill those out, it’s how your representative’s districts and the state are reapportioned,” Young County Judge John Bullock said. “It is how the federal representatives are reapportioned, it affects how we get revenue into the area by those numbers. So it is important that you fill those census numbers out. They’re not very trying at all, they’re simple.”
