After over a decade of service in Young County, District Clerk Jamie Land announced that she will be resigning from her position in September.
Land made her announcement during the public comment section of the Young County Commissioners Court meeting Monday, Aug. 25.
“I am resigning as district clerk effective Sept. 12, 2025, as I have accepted a new position as Regional Data Coordinator with the Office of Court Administration,” Land said. “I will work closely with the clerk appointed by (District) Judge (Phillip) Gregory to ensure a smooth transition.”
The Office of Court Administration is a state agency in the Judicial Branch that operates under the direction and supervision of the Supreme Court of Texas and the Chief Justice, according to the Texas Judicial Branch website.
Land was first appointed Jan. 1, 2015 as the Young County District Clerk and has served in that capacity since that time.
In Land’s resignation letter, she said that while she is excited to be starting this new chapter of her life, she will always be grateful for the trust and support she has been shown by the 90th Judicial District Court and the community during her time serving.
Young County Judge Win Graham expressed his surprise about the decision, but also his best wishes towards Land and this next step in her career.
“That’s huge news, you’ve done such a great job,” Graham said Aug. 25. “I’m happy for you but disappointed for us.”
