Young County man arrested on charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child
Young County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in Loving on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child which came from a report made from a 2018 incident. Preston Langley, 21, of Loving, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant from the office of the Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1.
According to information obtained from the affidavit for probable cause filed at the Young County Courthouse, YCSO took a report Tuesday, March 23, of a sexual assault which occurred on Randy Drive in Young County. The victim was identified as a child under the age of 14 and on the following day a forensic interview was conducted.
Forensic interviews are used to gather information from a victim or witness to be used in a legal setting, such as a court hearing, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Child Welfare Information Gateway. The interviews are conducted by professionals in child welfare, law enforcement and by specialized forensic interviewers at children’s advocacy centers.
