GRMC doctors assist in Haiti after earthquake

On Aug. 14, a magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southwestern Haiti approximately 75 miles west of the capital Port-au-Prince, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Two days later, Tropical Storm Grace made matters worse on Aug. 16 and 17, after more than 1 million were already exposed to the earthquake, which triggered landslides and a large number of deaths and injuries as well as extensive damage to infrastructure.

Friends, family remember Klowie Moore one year later

Friends and family gathered Saturday night at Sonic to remember the life of Klowie Moore on the one-year anniversary of her murder.

Sonic has become a spot of remembrance for Moore’s loved with a memorial banner that hangs from the front of the building and painted windows. It is where Moore worked and had several close relationships with friends and co-workers. Moore’s mother, Debbie said the family plans to keep holding memorials at the location on Klowie’s Dec. 28 birthday as well as every Sept. 11. She would have turned 21 this year.

Bunyard steps into position as director of Graham NCTC

Following a seven-year absence from Graham and North Central Texas College, Dr. Magen Bunyard has returned to the city helming the role of director at the community college. The new director stepped into the position at the beginning of August, following the departure of Kim Birdwell.

Seeing the positive work happening at NCTC when she worked at the campus prior, having the opportunity to collaborate and work with the community to identify needs and supporting and meeting those needs are what drew her back to NCTC.
