Angela Lia Harber Correll passed from this earthly life on March 31, 2022, following a short illness. Lia was born in Abilene, Texas, on Oct. 1, 1966.

She is survived by her parents, Don and Julie Harber: of Graham, brother Michael of Graham, sisters Heather Harber and Holly Harber Bandy, of Graham, nephew Bryce Bandy, of Graham, and special friend Cory Edens.

Lia graduated from Graham High School and enlisted in the US Navy where she served as an Electrician’s Mate on the USS Acadia. One of her proudest accomplishments was repairing the USS Stark after it came under attack by Iraqi missiles in the Persian Gulf. As Electrician’s Mate, it was her duty to climb to the crow’s nest to replace lights. While at the top of the crow’s nest, Lia signed her name! Lia served in the Philippines, Hawaii, and wherever she was sent. Naval service was the highlight of Lia’s life.

Recently, she has worked for David Barton on his two ranches. Lia loved the outdoors. She had a special connection to all creatures, great and small - buffalo, horses, a pet chicken, and of course, her beloved dogs. Lia was the “fixer” at the home place. From electricity to plumbing to gardening to auto mechanic, Lia fixed it all. Her last great adventure was her plans to travel to Jacksboro to help with tornado relief. God had a greater adventure in store.

Lia was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church in Graham where the other members took her in and showered her with love. A celebration of Lia’s life will be held at Oak Street Baptist Church on Thursday, April 7, at 11 a.m.
