Bill Brightman, 75, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at his home in Graham with his wife, Roma, and daughter, Judy, by his side. A funeral was held Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial followed at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Bill was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Crane, Texas to the late Ella Mae (Roberts) Brightman and Thomas Claver Brightman. Bill married Roma Montfort March 5, 2011, in San Antonio. Bill was a self-employed oil producer for most of his life but would tell many interesting stories from the few years he spent as a truck driver. Bill was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Bill enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He and Roma visited 49 states in their journeys – mostly in their RV – making many close friends along the way. Bill never met a stranger and he always had a story to tell. He was kind, encouraging and generous and always wanted the best for the people he loved.

Survivors include his wife, Roma Brightman of Graham; daughters: Judy Brown and husband Darryl, Lisa King and husband Wes and Cheryl Adams and husband Matt, all of Graham; a son: Cliff Brightman of Graham; seven grandchildren: Brett and Wesley Brown, Relisha Kohn, Dylan Brightman, Bryce Harrelson and Claire and Aidan Adams; nine great-grandchildren: Lily, MacKenzie and Aubrey Kohn, Foster, Harrison and Halle Brown and Lilly, Conner and Beau Brown; sisters: Elaine Day and husband Butch, Fleda Brogdon and husband Gary, and “his other sisters” – Mary Z. Brown and Sandy Burton and Bobbye Nelson and husband Elmer; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Mae Brightman, a mother-in-law Opal “GeeGee” Barrett and a brother-in-law Bob Brown.
