Bobbie James Smith, 81, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, in Graham. He was Bob, Dad, Pawpaw, Coach Smith and friend to many. Memorial service will be Monday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Mineral Wells, 309 N. W. 6th Street. Bob was born Oct. 21, 1936, to Frank and Evelyn (Glasscock) Smith, on the Hart Ranch in Palo Pinto County. Bob grew up and graduated in Graham. He joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Bliss, where he met his beloved wife of 56 years, Geneva “Bebe” Smith. While pursuing his coaching degree at the University of Texas at El Paso, he worked as a fireman. Bob started his 32 years of teaching and coaching in New Deal. He also coached in Graham, Crosbyton, Hamilton, Brownfield and Weatherford. He also loved fishing, hunting, camping and telling stories of all his incredible relationships and memories of every athlete he coached and his adventures with family and friends. Bob is survived by his precious children and grandchildren; son, Richard Frank Smith and wife, Terrye of Breckenridge and their children, Stormy and wife Kathryn, and Whitney; son, Steve James Smith of Eustace and his sons, Adam, Bryan, Colton and Zachary; daughter, Shanna Louise Smith and her dogs, Mardi and Sheba of Odessa; son, Adam Keith Stifflemire and wife, Kathy of Copperas Cove and their children, Kristen and Kyle. He is also survived by his dear nieces and their families and beloved Glasscock cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bebe; an infant daughter, Jennifer Lynn Smith; sister, Ann Bishop, niece, Susan Bishop and parents, Frank and Evelyn Smith.
