Bobbye Sue (Davis) Wilson Keller

Fri, 03/05/2021 - 8:41 am

Bobbye Sue (Davis) Wilson Keller, was called home to her Lord and Savior on the morning of March 3, 2021 at the age of 86. She was surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home in Mineral Wells.

Bobbye Sue was born on Sept. 30, 1934 in Holmes County, Florida. She was the second daughter of Carlton and Thelma Davis.

She married Johnny Wilson in 1953, and together they had four beautiful children: Rick, Randy, Traci, and Christy. After their sons were grown, Johnny and Bobbye decided to move with their girls to Mineral Wells, TX, in the summer of 1979. Although they later divorced, the family often came together to celebrate one another and shared many memories until Johnny’s passing in 1996.

Bobbye married her second husband, Earl Keller of Mineral Wells in 1982. The two of them were regulars at the American Legion. You could see them dancing the night away with all of their friends every Thursday evening. For many years, they ran a small engraving shop in downtown, Keller Kraft Trophy & Engraving, until retiring to their little slice of heaven down on the Brazos River and opening Keller’s Camping & RV Park. For 20 years, they welcomed family, friends, and travelers alike.

Bobbye loved nothing more than time spent with her family. She’d spend the afternoon swapping stories and laughing with her kids, cook up an amazing southern dinner with a side of fried cornbread, before kicking your butt at a game of Wahoo.

She was a beloved mother and adored grandmother. She was a fighter and a lover. She was strong-willed and compassionate. She was an angel and a firecracker. And her spirit will be missed every single day.

Bobbye leaves behind a loving family that she was very proud of; her older sister, Louise Popwell of Enterprise; three of her children, Randy Wilson and wife Jackie of Gonzales; Traci McGaha and husband Bill of Mineral Wells; Christy Ford and husband Mike of Graham; grandchildren Amanda Risher and husband John; Johnna Wilson; Serena Anderson and husband Greg; Candace Wilson; Justin Wilson; Leah Wilson; Callie Jo Williams and husband Derek, Johnny Wilson; and 11 wonderful great-grandchildren.

Bobbye was proceeded in death by her loving parents; her husband Johnny Wilson; her husband Earl Keller; her oldest son and golden child, Rick Wilson.

Her family would like to extend the utmost gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers who loved Bobbye like their own during her final time here on Earth. May God continue to bless you, and we hope you know how precious you are to us.

Visitation was held at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home on Friday, March 5, from 6 – 8 o’clock in the evening. She will be laid to rest at a graveside memorial at Woodland Park Cemetery on March 6 at 11 o’clock in the morning.
