Cariel Eugene Hardin Jr., 76, passed away March 20, 2018 in Newcastle. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home. Family visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Hardin was born April 20, 1941 in Young County, and was a lifelong resident of Fort Belknap and Newcastle. He was a farmer, rancher, a prolific gardener and operated the feed store in Newcastle for many years. He also worked at the Graham Livestock Commission for over 40 years. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Hardin; two sons, Danny Hardin and wife Melissa, and Ronnie Hardin and wife Traci; two daughters, Carla Short and husband Ronnie, and Cindy Hager and husband Mickey; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Pauline Hardin.
