Wed, 11/28/2018 - 9:18 am

Charles Manuel Clinton was born on July 8, 1931 in Knox City. He grew up a farm boy in Graham and graduated from Graham High School. He was in the army and stationed in France during the Korean Conflict between 1951-1954. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Marie Helvey, on Sept. 18, 1954 at Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. Charley joined his wife of 61 years as he met his heavenly Father face to face on November 26, 2018.

Charley Manual was preceded in death by his parents, Clarance & Ethel Clinton, his sister Wanda Cretsinger, and one grandson, Luke Clinton. Manual is survived by his brother and wife; Harvey and Betty Clinton; three children and their spouses, Randy and Debbie Clinton, Carla and Mike Rodgers, and Kevin and Becky Clinton: and nine grandchildren; Lindsey, Brad, Hunter, Hailey, Logan, Mikaela, Morgan, Makenzie, and Zachary; two great-grandsons; Kingston & Campbell and two great-granddaughters; Emma & Keyleigh.

Charles was a devoted husband and loving father. He was affectionately known as “PawPaw” by his grandchildren. He adored his family and loved gathering his children and grandchildren at the farm, planning hayrides, giving fishing lessons, feeding the cows, paddle-boating across the tank, playing games, and other fun adventures.

Charles served as a deacon at Singing Oaks Church of Christ in Denton and as both deacon and elder at Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. He was a businessman, a rancher, cattleman, and laundry owner. Charles and Dorothy lived in Denton and raised their family from 1961-1988. They moved to Graham in 1988 and back to living on the farm, which was his passion.
