Charles W. “C.W.” Mathis passed away Oct. 13, 2019, at his home near Graham. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gazebo in Newcastle Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home.

Mr. Mathis was born March 6, 1940 in Dale. He was a retired pipefitter and cattle rancher. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bill Mathis in 2008 and Jeffery Mathis in 2017 and by a daughter in law, Sophia Mathis in 2017.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Mathis of Graham; four sons, Bud Mathis and wife Kris, Mike Mathis, Mark Mathis and wife Georgia, Randy Mathis and wife Sheila; brother, Kenneth Mathis; sister Fay Mathis; 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
