Darla Kaye Underwood, 54, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13. Following a Family Interment at Gooseneck Cemetery, a Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham.

Darla was born March 22, 1968 in Graham to Diana Carter Underwood and the late Jerry Morris Underwood. She attended Graham High School and graduated from Ranger College School of Nursing. She worked tirelessly over the years taking care of the elderly with great love and compassion. She had a special place in her heart for animals and people in need. Her faith and generous heart led her to help so many without any recognition or fanfare. Her quick wit and endless smile will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her beloved son, Aaron Slay, her mother Diana Underwood, sisters Renne’ Unkart and husband Barry, Dedra Rupard and husband Allen, brother Morris Underwood and a much loved nephew, Brady Rupard. She is also survived by her uncle, Jim Underwood and wife Sandra and many wonderful and loved cousins.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Timothy, her father, Jerry Underwood, and her grandparents Morris and Mildred Underwood, and Roy and Lorene Carter.

Memorials can be made in her name to the Humane Society of Young County.
