Donald Scott Sims

Donald Scott Sims, 71, passed away in Arlington Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019. A graveside service will be Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. in Murray Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Scott was born on May 23, 1948 to the late Donald Edward Sims and Nancy Lee Carmack Sims in Stamford. He graduated from Stamford and attended one year at NTSU. He was a project manager in the construction industry for GSA. He loved his family dearly. He was a lover of classic cars and attended car shows to show off his beauties. He had a love for hunting and fishing. He did enjoy spending time at his property in Young County to feel close to his family history and learn more and more about it. He will be truly missed as he was truly loved by all.

Scott is survived by a daughter, Skye Hawkins and her significant other Rodney Michael Bachynski, of Wylie; two stepsons, Michael Shawn Simmons, of Pennsylvania, and Robert James Simmons, of Texas; his girlfriend of 38 years, Carol Green, of DeSoto; three grandchildren, Sarah Jane Massie, of Carrollton, Alyssa Lechelle Stordel, of Richardson, and Andrew Christian Mason, of Wylie; and a brother, Kerry Sims and wife Sharon, of Lebanon, Miss.; nephews, Chris Sims and Bradley Sims; niece, Kimberly Redman.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kay Sims Cowell.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
