Donna Belle Smith McClanahan

Donna Belle Smith McClanahan, 92 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at her home in Graham, Texas. She was born on Dec. 20, 1928, in Amarillo, Texas, to Lucian Edwin Smith and Ada Lee Terry Smith. She graduated from Graham High School in 1946. On May 4, 1947, she married the love of her life, Leonard Eugene McClanahan in Vickery, Texas. They had a wonderful life until his death in 1971. Donna worked as a telephone operator for ten years then stayed home to raise four children. In 1966 she went back to work for the Texas Highway Department where she retired after 26 years.

Donna was a charter member of the Graham Hospital Auxiliary, a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and the Kum Duble Sunday School Class.

Donna is survived by two daughters, Connie Garland and husband, Ken, of Denton and Sharon McClanahan of the home in Graham; two granddaughters, Meredith Garland of The Woodlands, and Kasey Wright and husband, Cole, of Argyle; twin great grandchildren, Karsyn and Cayden Wright; sister-in-laws, Betty Smith of Wichita Falls, Billie Mosley and husband, Otis, of Austin, Pattie McClanahan of Graham and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Gary McClanahan and daughter, Caron McClanahan, brother, Edwin L. Smith and sister, Imogene Hays.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Graham, Texas, with Rev. Ben Disney and Rev. Jim Senkel officiating. Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery following the funeral service. Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church Samaritans, First United Methodist Church Stephen Ministry, Beyond Faith Hospice or charity of choice.
