Donna Lynn (Shahan) Cole
Donna Lynn (Shahan) Cole, age 61, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 20 surrounded by her family, friends and her beloved dog Winnie Poo after a long hard fought battle against COPD.
She is survived by her husband Mike Cole of 44 years, daughter Kristy Cole of graham and her second daughter Amber Jennings of Oklahoma, father Jim Shahan, sisters Darlene Boone, Diane Shahan, Daphne Shahan, all of Graham, Kathleen Maples of Wolfforth and Dodie Brice and husband kris of Newcastle, sisters-in-law, Carole Elder, Donna Dye and Linda Cole of Graham and numerous cherished nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Donna loved watching her nephews play sports and cheering them on. She was always the loudest person in the stands and was well known for her shouts of “get ‘er done!” She loved to read mystery novels but loved to fish along the Brazos River or at PK Lake more than anything else. She loved the mountains and enjoyed several visits to Ruidoso and Capitan New Mexico and Colorado.
One of her life long dreams was to put her feet in the ocean so a trip to Corpus Christi fulfilled that dream. She was a long time member of Grace Baptist Church and adored her church family.
Donna had a giving heart and always put others needs ahead of her own. She loved her extremely large family and enjoyed all the family get togethers.
Viewing was held at McMillan Satterwhite Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 5-7 p.m. and a graveside service was held at the Newcastle Cemetery on Friday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.
