Everett Glenn Weatherbee was born in Graham, Texas on Aug. 29, 1951 to his parents MK Weatherbee from Newcastle and Florence Athlene Liverman Weatherbee from Virginia. He grew up on Hillcrest Street and loved the five-kid family that was always filled with home cooking and love. His dad put the first hammer in his hands and put him to work.

Glenn attended school in Graham before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He met his best friend Lynn Roth while in the Marines. Following his time in the military, he followed Lynn to South Dakota for work. The two returned to Texas together and joined Glenn’s brother, Paul Weatherbee, in the wildcatting oil business. Together, they developed Hampton Hills subdivision and residential lots. Glenn and Lynn formed W & S Company, placing water and sewer lines. His life in development improved the quality of housing around Dyess Air Force Base. Glenn surrounded himself with powerful, educated Christian friends who worked consistently with him throughout his life in accounting, engineering, drafting and subcontracting. Glenn’s family credits these important friends and the city of Abilene for working with him in his many business endeavors that were spent in development, planning and zoning, permits and inspections. Through his work, Glenn was able to build a legacy of safe quality housing for the city of Abilene that will continue to benefit many families.

Glenn’s hobbies included golf with the guys and collecting coins from the United States and studying their history. His true passion was spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and the greats, with ATV rides, Red Ryder BB gun hunts and bass fishing at the tank on his beloved Weatherbee Ranch. Glenn was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church for many years and treasured his pastor and church family. Glenn often reminded Jane that God made her just for him as he daily praised God for his many blessings.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Jane Estes Weatherbee; his children, Trenton Chandler of Key West, Fla., Tamara Chandler of San Angelo, David Weatherbee and wife Jenni of Keller, Kim Weatherbee of Granbury, Lacie Martinez and husband Adam of Bowling Green, Ky., Jay Tindol and wife Ashley of Abilene, Victoria Encalade and husband Grant of Abilene, Tyson Tindol of Potosi, and Rebecca Tindol of Dallas; his grandchildren Hannah Weatherbee, Roman Weatherbee, Justyce Simmons, Mallory Martinez, Oakley Martinez, Journey Martinez, and Legend Martinez, Grady Tindol, Graham Tindol, Lainey Tindol; his great-granddaughter Aisley Simmons who kept him laughing and provided non-stop smiles; his mother-in-law, June Estes of Abilene, his sisters Reba Fox of Midland, Janice Evans of Graham, and his sister-in-law Lana Weatherbee of Graham; his nieces Shana Wolf and husband Troy of Graham, Tonya Williams and husband Jesse of Knoxville, Tenn., Kayla Weatherbee and husband Glenn of Sacramento, Calif., Tamra Evans of Lubbock, along with multiple great nieces and nephews. Glenn passed into heaven on May 18, 2022 and would be pleased if any remembrances were donated to missions at Trinity Baptist, 871 Woodlawn Drive, Abilene 79603 or in support of his wife’s nonprofit for dental care to Choluteca, Honduras, United with the Same Love, 4550 Peppergrass Lane, Abilene 79606.
