Frances was born in Graham, Texas on Dec. 11, 1929, to Maria and R.L. Morrison. She grew up in Graham and graduated from Graham High School in 1947.

Following high school, she attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, Tenn., where she developed a close group of friends with whom she corresponded the remainder of her life. She then attended the University of Texas at Austin, becoming an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, where she met her best friend and the love of her life of 49 years, John C. Hammond.

Frances was known for her love of people and devotion to her Christian faith. Her life was filled with meaningful relationships, consistently placing the needs of others above herself; her example of sacrificial giving was an inspiration to all.

She will be remembered for her zest of life and always living every day to the fullest. As a member of one of the founding families of the First Presbyterian Church in Graham, she fulfilled a lifelong commitment of service.

Frances fondest memories were spent at Possum Kingdom Lake, on the terrace of her lake cabin under a full moon, sharing quality time and stories with family and friends. These special moments will be forever treasured and will continue for generations.

Frances is survived by her four children: Mary Sanders of Graham, Hollye Campbell of Fort Worth, Libby Burkett and husband Zack of Graham, and Chad Hammond and wife Heather of Tokyo, Japan. She was a beloved “Gran” to 10 grandchildren: Z.T. Burkett, Eleanor Burkett Gage, Emery Burkett Blanton, Courtney Sanders Hess, Rebecca Sanders Allred, Nykolas Hammond, Mia Hammond, Lilija Hammond, Noa Hammond and Micah Hammond. She was blessed at the end of her life by the joy of seven great grandchildren.

Along with husband, John C. Hammond, she was preceded in death by her father, R.L. Morrison; mother, Maria Morrison,; brother, Robert Morrison Jr.; sister, Mary Morrison; and son-in-law, Charles Campbell.

The family asks that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, 1400 Randy Dr., Graham, TX. 76450 or Meals On Wheels, P.O. Box 1655, Graham TX. 76450, which was a vital part of her life for over 50 years.
