Geneva ‘Bebe’ Marrion Smith

Geneva "Bebe" Marrion Smith, 76, of Granbury, died July 20, 2017. She was a wife, mother, aunt, friend and retired teacher. Bebe was born in Deming, N.M. on Oct. 18, 1940, to Richard M. and Geneva Melton Hardison. Bebe spent her formative years growing up in El Paso. She graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with graduate courses at Texas Tech in Lubbock. Bebe was privileged to have an opportunity to teach 31 years in various school districts in Texas. These schools were located in El Paso, New Deal, Graham, Crosbyton, Brownfield, Hamilton and Weatherford. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bobbie James Smith and their precious children and grandchildren; son, Richard Frank Smith and wife, Terrye, of Breckenridge and their two children, Stormy and Whitney; son, Steven James Smith and wife, Regina, of Sundown and their four sons, Adam, Bryan, Colton and Zachary; daughter, Shanna Louise Smith and her dogs, Mardi and Sheba, of Odessa; son, Adam Keith Stifflemire and wife, Kathy, of Copperas Cove and their two children, Kristen and Kyle. Bebe also is survived by her sisters, Sarah Grove of Odessa, Cathy Tambur of Vista, Calif., and Betty Howell of Waco. She also loved her nieces and nephews and their families, as well as her cousins and her Glasscock cousins she obtained through marriage. Bebe was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Lynn Smith; sister, Frances "Diddy" Sweatt, and her parents, Richard and Geneva Hardison. She was a member of Texas Retired Teachers and Blue Bonnet Garden Club. Celebration of her life is Saturday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Mineral Wells.
