Hugh David Stovall

Hugh David Stovall died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in Graham. He was 59.  Hugh was laid to rest Sunday, March 19, beside his father's grave at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. Arrangements were under the direction of McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home. Hugh was born Jan. 23, 1958 in Graham. He graduated in 1976 from Graham High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from The University of Texas in Austin in 1981. After graduation he moved to Houston and worked for IBM, where he met his wife, Linda. Hugh and Linda were married in 1984 and lived in League City. They both worked on the flight software for the Space Shuttle until the program ended in 2011. Hugh was an instrument-rated private pilot and enjoyed flying the country in his Grumman Tiger airplane. He also enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled model airplanes, riding motorcycles, building computers, hiking and camping. Hugh was known for being able to build or repair anything. Most of all, Hugh was a loving husband, son and brother, and a truly outstanding father to his twins. Survivors include his wife, Linda Stovall, son, Shaun Stovall, and daughter, Shannan Stovall, all of Pueblo West, Colo.; mother, B.J. Stovall of Graham; three brothers, Lee Stovall of Las Vegas, Troy Stovall and wife, Sidney, of Graham, and Dale Stovall and wife, Deborah, of Dallas; sister, Elizabeth Stovall of Las Vegas. Hugh was preceded in death by his father, Lee C. Stovall of Graham.
