Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Irene G. Foley, passed away peacefully Dec. 29, 2016, surrounded by family. She was born July 31, 1936 in Patterson, N.J., to Ralph and Clare Rutherford. Irene grew up in New Jersey where she and her husband, Robert C. “Bob” Foley, met as children. She caught his eye as she was playing softball, and the rest was a classic love story that stood the test of time. Irene married Bob on June 7, 1958 in Patterson, New Jersey. In 1969 they moved to Graham, the place she loved most, the place she considered home. Irene and Bob raised four adoring children and were blessed with 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she held carefully in her daily prayers. She is survived by her husband, Bob; her daughters, Robin Burns and her husband, Ralph, of Dallas, and Amy Berry and her husband, Trey, of Dallas; son,s Charles Foley of Medford Lakes, N.J. and Paul Foley and his wife, Erin, of Dallas; grandchildren, Misty Incontrera, Nicholas Burns, Zachary Burns, Lucas Burns, Andrew Foley, Jen Bouchard and her husband, Brandon, Alex Foley, Will Berry, John Paul Berry, Graeme Berry, Emerson Foley, Eleanor Foley and Jack Foley; great-grandchildren, Alex Singleton, Wilder Incontrera, Gracie Bouchard, Ellis Bouchard and Maya Bouchard; and several nieces and nephews. Irene’s relationship with God was unwavering, and her love of family, friends, community and faith will live on as her legacy. Irene’s last spoken words were to her husband, Bob: “I love you.” Services were held Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church and burial followed at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
