James William McCarty passed away on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022. A Memorial Service was held Thursday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at the McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home Chapel.

James was born in Graham on Dec. 18, 1940, to the late Edgar Jackson and Lois Lindley McCarty. James lived in Borger and moved to Graham in 1982. On May 25, 1982, he married Sheila Ann Sackett. James loved to fish, he loved animals, especially his dog Scooter. He worked for the city of Graham for many years as a mechanic. You would often find him drinking coffee at Whataburger or riding his motorcycle around the lake with his kids and grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all.

James is survived by his wife Sheila, son John and wife Terry, stepsons Roger Espey, John Espey, and Bill Wilkerson and wife Lorie. Sisters Janey Dudley and husband James, and Judy Burgess and husband Allen. Grandchildren Jared, Jason and wife Lindsey, Joshua and wife Kiley, Kristian and husband Kyle, Ethan, Journey, Gavin, Jennifer and husband Tim, Jaclin, Tiffany and husband Colton, John and wife Kristen, Jeff and wife Olivia, Jason, and Sydney, as well as 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by one son, Jackie McCarty, and by a daughter, Janice McCarty.
