Jeffery Lynn Barker, 57, died tragically in a boating accident behind Possum Kingdom Lake Dam, Friday, May 31, 2019, doing what he loved, fishing for the big fish with a buddy.

There will be a celebration of Jeff’s life Saturday, June 8 at 3 p.m. at the Possum Kingdom Lake Chamber of Commerce. Burial will follow at the LuQueen Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Jeff was born Jan. 3, 1962 in Weatherford, to Carlon Dean Barker and Hester (Mays) Barker. Jeff was raised in Graford, attending school and graduating from Graford High School in 1980.

Jeff met the love of his life at a PK Lake Dance in October 1980. Jeff and Kimmi Lea McCracken were married on Feb. 14, 1982. They became the proud parents of their two sons Jeffrey and Jordan. One of Jeff’s greatest joys are his four grandchildren with another expected in November.

Survivors include his wife Kimmi of Possum Kingdom Lake. Sons Jeffrey and his wife Denjuami of Los Fresnos, Jordan and his wife Sarah of Mineral Wells. Grandchildren Jeffery Dean and Kalea Barker, Aspyn, Ky and expected baby, and his faithful hunting dog Kay. Brothers Bob and Peggy Gruell and David and Carla Barker. Sister Deana and Steve White. Bro-In-Law Reese McCracken. Sister-In-Laws Mandy and Forest Atkins, Laurel McCracken and Darrell Green. Along with a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends that will miss him greatly.

Preceded in death by his parents, sister Rhonda Moore, Mother and Father-In-Law Jannet and John McCracken and faithful hunting dogs Kelly, Pearl and Sky.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Children Research Hospital.
