Jimmy Waring Bradshaw

Fri, 12/28/2018 - 8:56 am

Jimmy Waring Bradshaw died unexpectedly on Dec. 26, 2018, while spending Christmas with his family on Cedar Creek Lake. He had just retired and moved from Graham to Gun Barrel City to begin this new chapter of life. He was 65 years old.

Jim is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Beckie) Bradshaw; his daughter Kelley Curtin and her husband Jim; his daughter Lindsey Sherry and her husband Steve; his grandchildren Daniel James Curtin, Eleanor Bradshaw Curtin, Layla Belle Sherry, and Lexi Maxwell Sherry; his sister, Carolyn Woodson and her husband Chuck; and his brother Greg Bradshaw. He was also survived by his very best furry friend Bess. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Cliff and Fern Bradshaw.

Jim and Beckie were high school sweethearts and were married for 44 years. He was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, rarely missed watching a football game, and enjoyed friendly banter with his Longhorn children. He was an engineer at Bettis, Boyle, and Stovall for over 36 years, an Elder and a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church, and a youth sponsor for many years. Jimmy was often referred to as Rambo or MacGyver, as he was always entertaining us with his creative ideas and fun-loving spirit. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren with his whole heart. They were the light of his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society.

His memorial will be held at First Presbyterian Church Graham on Sunday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. in the afternoon.
