Jocelyn Williams, 78, of Midland, passed away with her family by her side Monday, Jan. 29, 2018 in Midland. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Stonegate Fellowship. A private burial will be held at Resthaven Cemetery prior to the service. Jocelyn was born Jan. 10, 1940 to Jo Nelle and Sumpter Reed in Seagraves. She graduated from Graham High School and attended Baylor and Texas Tech University. She married Richard on Aug. 27, 1960 and devoted her life to her husband and her family. She had a magnetic personality and never met a stranger. She was an active volunteer at the local hospital and nursing homes prior to being diagnosed with MS over four decades ago. Her zeal for life resulted in the formation of the MS150 “Team Jocelyn” group who rode in her honor. Her most notable characteristic was her affection for all of those around her. She was a second mom to many and an inspiration to all. Jocelyn had the unique ability to interact, listen and cheer those around her. Ultimately, the way and the manner that she lived through her trials will be her most enduring quality and always remembered. She was a special and wonderful spouse, mother and grandmother (Mimi) and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband, Richard O. Williams; son, Tom W. Williams and wife, Molly, of Midland, and their children Michael, Marshall, Travis and Hope; daughter, Terri A. Solari and her husband, Mark, of Midland, and their children, Rachael and husband, Ryan, and Michelle and husband, Clay, and grand-daughters, Abi and Cora; brother, Tom E. Reed and wife, Jan, of Lewisville, and their children, John and Amy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jo Nelle and Sumpter Reed, as well as her sister, Anne Southerland. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren Michael Williams, Marshall Williams, Travis Williams, Hope Williams, Michelle Clark and Rachael Davis. The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to Nurses Unlimited and the kind staff that loved and supported Jocelyn for many years, as well as Dr. Russell Van Husen and James Carpenter for their interest, care and support. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated the local MS Society, 1031 Andrews Hwy. 201, Midland, TX 79701; Stonegate Fellowship, 6000 W. Wadley Ave., Midland, TX 79707; or Hospice of Midland, 911 W. Texas, Midland, TX 79701. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
