John L. “J.L.” Martin Jr. passed away April 16, 2017 at his home near Graham. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham. J.L. was born Feb. 4, 1933 in South Bend, to John L. and Ethel Martin, and had lived in Graham most of his life. He was retired from the city of Graham after 37 years and loved to hunt and fish. Survivors include his wife, Christine Martin; two sons, John D. Martin and wife Kathy and Jerry Martin; daughter, Sarah Rutherford and husband Donald; grandchildren, Mary Ann Goodman and husband James, Vincent Martin and wife Kristina and Patrick Rutherford; great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Nikki Goodman, and Casen and Camren Martin; great-grandson on the way, Carter Michael Martin, to carry on the Martin name; brother-in-law, Vincent Roth, and best friend, Terry Vanlandingham.
