John Paul Smith passed away April 13, 2018 at his home near Loving. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home in Graham and a funeral Mass will be Monday, April 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Graham. Interment follows in the Winn Hill Cemetery in Jack County. Paul was born July 16, 1940 in Kilgore, and had lived in Windthorst and Loving for many years. He was a retired farmer and rancher. Survivors include three sons, Dan Smith and wife Yvette of Windthorst, David Smith and wife Lisa of Windthorst and Dale Smith of Jacksboro; two daughters, Debbie Sissom and husband Corby of Holliday and Lisa Williams and husband Justin of Loving; 14 grandchildren, Ashley Helms, Allyson Smith, Amanda Smith, Westen Smith, Lindsay Helms, Kelcy Jackson, Peyton Sissom, Meagan Sissom, Sierra Sissom, Kathryn Steel, Christopher Hoadley, Adrian Smith, Mia Smith and Braden Williams; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Gene Smith; his parents, Bob and Ruby Smith; four brothers, Robert T., Buddy, Louis and David Ray and a sister, Bernice Clay.
