Funeral service for Jon Cristopher Newton, 38, of Leeds, Ala., will be Wednesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Liberty Methodist Church in Hackneyville. Rev. Joey Bentley will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home. Newton passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the University of Alabama Hospital. He was born April 6, 1979 in Graham, to Jon A. Newton and Tresa Gann Martin. He is survived by his daughter, Emily Ann Newton of Talladega, Ala.; wife, Kristi K. Sullivan of Leeds, Ala.; mother, Tresa Gann Martin of Oxford, Ala.; aunts, Donna Goray (Les), Lynelle Casteel (Larry), Linda Newton and Debbie Black (Ray), all of Graham; brothers, Robert Beck (Amanda) of Duncanville, Ala. and Corey Voss of Hackneyville, Ala.; cousins, Lynn Dooley (Gene) of Flower Mound, April White (Robert) and Melissa Casteel, both of Graham, and Lisa Black (Jimi) of Wichita Falls; and step-dad, Che Martin of Oxford, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his father, Jon A. Newton; grandparents, Gil and Flo Newton; grandfather, Vernon H. Gann; and grandmother, Geneva R. Poole.
