Joseph ‘Gerald’ Washburn

Joseph "Gerald" Washburn, 79, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the Eliasville Tabernacle in Eliasville. Burial will follow in Eliasville Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Gerald was born Jan. 20, 1938 in Graham, to the late Frank Haze and Mary Jane (Delong) Washburn. Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War on the USS Saratoga. He was a retired welder and pecan farmer and he was a member of the Church of Christ, AVR, NRA and a lifetime member of the Graham Rifle and Pistol Club. Survivors include his daughter, Karen Jo Crow of Eliasville; sons, Frank Haze Washburn and wife, Denise of Graford, Wayne Thomas Washburn of Eliasville, and Mark Andrew Washburn and wife, Lanesa of Gruver; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sister, Margrete Mooneyham and brothers, Jack Pete "JP" Washburn, Isaaic R. Washburn and Raymond Haze Washburn. Memorials may be made to: Foster's Home for Children, 1779 N. Graham St. Stephenville, TX 76401. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
