Lonnie Lovern, 71, of Possum Kingdom Lake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. in Graford Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery in Palo Pinto County, under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Lonnie was born Aug. 22, 1944 in Graham, to the late Lonnie Claude and Melva Lee (Sullivan) Lovern. He married Dana Elizabeth Roberson on Sept. 20, 1980 in Hico. Lonnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from the oilfield and was a member of the Church of Christ Survivors include his wife, Dana Roberson Lovern, of Possum Kingdom Lake; sons, Sam Lovern of Enid, Okla., Brent Lovern and Clent Lovern, both of Fort Worth, Jimmy Dan Lovern of Graham, and Lonnie Lovern Jr., of Salesville; sister, Janice Braddock, of Graham; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sully and Dale Lovern.
