Louis Thurman ‘Snuffy’ Farmer

Louis Thurman “Snuffy” Farmer, 96, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 in Graham.  His funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home. Louis was born Aug. 14, 1920 in Jack County, to the late William Bryan and Iva Viola (Thetford) Farmer. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II.  Louis married Rosa Lee Wood on Aug. 9, 1941 in Jacksboro.  She preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 2013.  Louis moved to Graham in 1946, where he worked in the oilfield and concrete worker. Survivors include his daughters, Rosa Louise Gore and husband, Ronnie, of Terrell and Patsy Lee Horn and husband, Bill Jr., of Graham; sister, Melba Weaver of Jacksboro; granddaughter, Romy Gore; nephew, Butch Farmer and wife, Anita, of Graham; sister-in-law, Annie Hunter of Graham; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Frances Krick, Lavelle Guinn, Wanda Farmer, Truette Farmer, Jack Farmer, Ray Farmer and Carvel Farmer.   Visitation will be held Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
