Lyndia Morrow Donnell

Lyndia Morrow Donnell, 77, of Hale Center, formerly of Littlefield, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 in Plainview. She was born Jan. 6, 1940 in Amherst, to Leslie and Faye (Mote) Morrow. Lyndia loved cooking and baking, watching cooking shows and collecting recipes. She also liked to travel and go camping. Lyndia had a great sense of humor, she was very brave, and wasn’t afraid to try new things. Lyndia taught school for Amherst and Littlefield for almost 30 years. Lyndia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Littlefield, and then the First Baptist Church in Hale Center after she moved. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and the Fun Chasers Travel Club. Above all else, she was a wonderful mother who was like a best friend to her daughters, and she truly loved her grandchildren. Lyndia is survived by her two daughters, Dotty Russell and husband, Lane, of Graham, and Shonda Baldridge and husband, Coltin, of Hale Center; a son, Kenneth Donnell and wife, Janna, of Graham; seven grandchildren, Brian Daniel, Edward Donnell, Stephen Brantley, Wesley Russell, Gracyn Baldridge, Aidan Baldridge and Cassidy Baldridge; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Chad Brantley; and her sister, Karren Ruland. Services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Grace Chapel in Littlefield with Tanner Wilson officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
