Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 30, at 2 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Kay was born on April 20, 1943 in Graham. Kay was a lifelong resident of Graham, and a member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from North Texas State University in Denton in 1965 and taught English at Bryson High School for a short time. Most of her career was spent at Graham Magnetics, and she was recently employed by Dr. Cawley of Graham. Kay is survived by her husband, Seferino Gallegos of Graham; her sister, Martha Parsons Thetford and husband Ron Thetford of Flower Mound, her daughter, Greta Slay of El Centro, Calif.; her son, David Slay of Kankakee, Ill.; stepdaughters, JoAnn Jackson, Rachel Kendall and Evelyn Veheel; stepson, Eloy Gallegos; four nephews, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Parsons; brothers, John, Paschall and Edwin Parsons; stepson, Ronnie Gallegos, as well as her beloved son, Leslie Allen Slay. Sef and Kay were married in 1984 and lived happily in Graham in Kay’s childhood home. Kay had a strong love for music and played the piano beautifully. We will cherish our memories of her beautiful smile, her sense of humor and her love for family. She will be missed, but we are assured that she lives on with her Savior in Heaven.
