Martha Jane Lewis, 80, of Cleburne, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016.  Jane was born Oct. 28, 1935, in Temple, to Leonard Harmon Moore and Naomi Lewis Moore. She graduated in 1959 from Bethany Nazarene College, now Southern Nazarene University, with a bachelor of science degree in education. She married Kenneth R. Lewis on Dec. 17, 1966 in Temple. Jane taught elementary school for 27 years, teaching 10 years before starting a family and then taking 10 years off to be a stay-at-home mom. She returned to teaching in 1979 in Graham. During that time, she was a very active member of the First Church of the Nazarene where, throughout those years, she had the joy of ministering to so many people showing the love of Christ. She and her husband moved to Big Spring in 1993, where she continued teaching in the nearby town of Cahoma. She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Big Spring where she continued to demonstrate the love of Christ. She retired in 1996. Although she touched so many children’s lives in all those years of teaching, her greatest accomplishments were her own two children. She was a member of Fort Worth First Church of the Nazarene.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth R. Lewis; son, Kevin Lewis and wife, Theresa, of Rockwall; daughter, Sara Lewis Fleming and husband, Steven, of Midland; grandson, Sawyer Fleming; sister, Norma Dene Lee; and brother, Leonard Moore Jr., both of Temple. She was preceded in death by both parents.
