Mary A. Dragoo, 89, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020. Graveside funeral was 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020 at Loving Cemetery in Loving, Texas. Arrangements were under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Mary was born Nov. 2, 1931 in Lake Worth, Texas to the late Iota June (Morris) Newsom and Hugh Edward Newsom, Sr. She married Reverend Jimmie Jackson Dragoo, July 18, 1951 in Brownwood, Texas. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2001. Mary as Pastors wife served with her husband as Missionaries to Africa, Mexico, Romania, Latvia, Brazil, Tobaggo, and Russia. Together they started a Ministry called “Church Starts”. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church Graham. She retired as an admission clerk for Bethania Hospital in Wichita Falls. Mary was very active as a foster grandmother “Gigi” to 78 foster kids.

Survivors include; daughters, Nancy Dragoo of Fort Worth, Janice Williams and husband Philip of Lenexa, KS., Sharon Watson of Fort Worth, and Donna Dragoo of Graham; nine grandchildren, Derek and Kevin Williams, Amanda Nauert and Aaron, Ryan Watson, Alize, Jakhia, Diamond, Jaydon Dragoo, and Danial Hanson; four great grandchildren, Brenton Dexter, Carsen and Alexis Williams, and Sam Nauert.

Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Reverend Hugh E. Newsom, Jr.
