Mary Frances Wheat Wickham

Mary Frances Wheat Wickham, 88, of Amarillo, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016. She peacefully passed in the care of Plum Creek Nursing Home and Interim Hospice of Amarillo. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at First Baptist Church, 620 4th St. in Graham, TX. Frances was born May 20, 1928 in Young County, to T.H. and Lottie Wheat. She spent most of her life in Young County and Wichita Falls, moving to Amarillo several years ago. Prior to retiring in 1992, Frances taught elementary school in both the Graham school system and Wichita Falls Independent School District. She loved crossword puzzles, crocheting and watching sports, especially her beloved Dallas Cowboys. But mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Frances is survived by her children, Dee Maness and husband, Wesley, of Amarillo, Tommy Wickham and wife, Cindy, of Lakeland, Fla., and Judy Patterson and husband, Robert, of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Brandon Maness and wife, Haley, of Aiken, S.C., Karla Maness Scott of Wichita Falls, Robert Wickham of Lakeland, Fla., Sarah Prine and husband, Ray, of Bartow, Fla., and Elaine Petty and husband, Danny Petty Jr., of Lakeland, Fla.; and her great-grandchildren, Sean Wickham, Amelia Boulding, Lucy Petty, Adeline Grace Maness and Maddison Maness. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.H. and Lottie; and siblings, T.H. Wheat Jr., Roy Wheat, Bernita McCracken Wheat, Weldon Wheat and Glenn Wheat.
