Mary Marshall (Puddy) Newsom, 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Graham, with her dog by her side, on June 24, 2021. Funeral Services were held Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Puddy was born in her grandparents’ home at 1125 Old Jacksboro Rd on April 19, 1951. She worked for her parents at The Barn for many years. She married Bo Newsom on Jan. 23, 1988, in Graham. She loved gardening and mowing her yard. She loved her animals and being around her friends and family. She took great pride in her house being spotless, and her door was always open. Quite often you would find her home filled with the neighborhood kids, where she would treat them to pizza and movies. She was a homeroom mother for schools for many years. She was an extremely generous woman and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Heaven gained another Honky-Tonk Angel.

Puddy is survived by a son, Jimmy Lovern-Downs, son in law Chris Lovern-Downs; sister Beulah Loftis, brother Edwin Lehr and wife Yako, Aunt Betty Lindley, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bo Newsom, parents Harold Marshall Lehr and Mary Slice Lehr, Daughter Tracy Newsom, Brother Johnny Lehr, and by a Cousin Denice Green.
