Mitchell Eugene Watkins was called home to be with his Savior April 19, 2016, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Nov. 29, 1965, to the late Stanley Watkins and the late Dorthy Watkins Burt.

Mitchell was born in California, came to Texas for many years, moved to Alabama, and has lived in Gulfport, Mississippi, for the last several years.

He was a carpenter and construction worker by trade.  

Mitchell is survived by two sons, Jamie and Joshua; two sisters, Nonie and Elaine; four brothers, Stan, James, Loyall and Steve; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Weldon and the love of his life, Sue.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Oak Street Baptist Church.
