It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Myra Ratliff Collier early Wednesday evening on Feb. 28, 2018. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Myra was born in Spur on June 4, 1934, to Judge L.D. and Marie Ratliff. She resided at Pecan Plantation since Dec. 1, 1993. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, David A. Collier; a son, Michael, of Dallas; daughter, Sharon Holt of College Station; grandchildren, Whitney Holt of Houston, Judsin Holt of Austin, Taylor Holt of San Diego, Allyson C. Ravnaas of Fort Worth, and Megan Collier of Dallas; two great-grandchildren, R. Dean Ravnaas II and George P. Ravnaas, of Fort Worth. Myra was an outstanding elementary teacher in both El Paso and Lubbock. The family will have a private memorial service celebrating her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Myra was preceded in death by her parents, Judge L.D. and Marie Ratliff of Spur, and an infant daughter at birth in El Paso. As a loving individual, she loved her church. She loved teaching others to read and was class president in six Sunday Schools over the years and was a student of the Bible. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.
