Nancye Jane May of Granbury passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at the age of 83. Nancye, the youngest of nine, was born on Jan. 19, 1936, in Slaton to Braxton Barto Jones and his wife Nellie Mae. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Way Church. Nancye also loved politics and was an active member of the Republican Party and was never apt to shy away from a political conversation. Prior to retirement, she served in many capacities while at West Texas A&M University and considered it her collegiate alma mater.

Nancye is survived by her children: Randy May and wife Sheri of Granbury, Melanie May of Amarillo, and Steve May and wife Tracy of Dallas. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Dustin, Colton, Tiffany, Grayson, Cullen and Taylor. Nancye is survived by her brother, Doug Jones and wife Doris of Weatherford, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancye professed her faith in Jesus Christ in her 30s and served her Savior the remainder of her life.  Her faith led her children to Christ and will have a lasting impact on their lives and the many others she touched. The family requests that any memorial donations be made to the giver’s favorite charity in lieu of giving to a specific family charity.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at Wiley Funeral Home Chapelin Granbury. Visitation will be held that morning from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Wiley Funeral Home.
