Nellie Gifford, 88, passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, in Graham. Graveside funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at Rock Creek Cemetery in Jack County. Arrangements are with Morrison Funeral Home.

Nellie was born June 9, 1933. in Bryson to the late Martha Bennett Hill and Jess Sanderson. She married Ben Nolan “Blackie” Gifford. He preceded her death in 1982. Nellie and Blackie operated the Phillips 66 Station in Jacksboro for many years. Nellie was a lifetime resident of Bryson, Texas.

Survivors include; daughter, Virginia Armstrong and husband Jimmy of Olney; son, Roger Dale Gifford of Odessa; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, infant son Kenneth Gifford, brother Tommy Sanderson, sister Pauline Burgess, three stepsons, Jerry, Ronnie, and Curtis Gifford, and a special friend John B. Holland.
