Nellie Mae (Dunlap) Redick

Nellie Mae (Dunlap) Redick, 58, of Ottawa, Kan. passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Memorial will be held at Grace Chapel Church in Graham at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 with a dinner afterwards.

Nellie was born July 28, 1960 in Graham to the daughter of Robert Lee and Sally Mae (Rhodes) Dunlap.

She grew up in Graham, moving in 1997 to Bryson. In 2014, she moved to Ottawa where she made her home until death.

She attended school in Graham. Survivors include her son, Chad Redick of McAlester, Okla.; four siblings, Patsy Roberts and husband Danny of Ottawa, Barbara Dunlap of Graham, Authur Dunlap or Graham and Larry Dunlap also of Graham; 30 great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sally Dunlap and brother Eugene Dunlap.

Nellie was employed as a waitress at Bullocks, Sanderson’s Barbecue, Thirty Street Grill in Graham and Cotton’s in Bryson and worked in the deli at Price Chipper in Ottawa. She also sold Mary Kay cosmetics and was very proud that she could help women look prettier. Also, she sold Tupperware and enjoyed holding home parties.

She attended Lighthouse Community Church of God in Ottawa.

Nellie loved to cook and spend time with her sister’s grandchildren considering them as her own.
