Oleta Fay Harrell

On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the age of 86 Jesus welcomed Oleta Fay Harrell into her eternal home. Oleta was an amazing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. But more importantly she was a faithful servant for her Lord. Celebration of life will be Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church. Burial will follow Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Oleta was born on Oct. 28, 1935 in Rusk County Texas to the late Leon and Argie Harris. In 1952 she met Ernest Harrell and became his bride for 64 years. Their journey together brought them to Graham in 1960. Ernest and Oleta had three children Jeanetta, Charles and Patricia.

Oleta was a nurse that worked in the clinic of Dr. Rayner before working at Graham General Hospital for 20 years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Graham Tire Center for 25 years before retiring. She loved music, her piano, organ and harp. She loved playing the organ and piano for her church, teaching Sunday School, and serving in the Missions Department. During the summer Oleta and her granddaughters would travel to various churches with her puppet team, Puppets for Christ. She loved making wedding cakes for the public and had the privilege of making all of her grandchildren’s wedding cakes.

Oleta is survived by her daughter Jeanetta Anderson and husband Rodney, son Charles Harrell and wife Elaine, and son Jamye Rogers all of Graham; seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry and wife Kay Harris and Joe Harris, sister, Joyce Waskom, sister- in-law Joyce Marie Harris, sister-in-law Oleta Harrell, numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Oleta was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Harrell; daughter, Patricia Rogers; her parents, Leon and Argie Harris; brothers Jearl Harris and Johnny Harris.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
