Peggy Dean Lackey Damron went to be with Her Lord and Savior, Sept. 12, 2020 in Granbury, Texas.

A Celebration of Her Life was held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 11 am at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Graceland Cemetery in Jermyn, Texas.

Peggy was born on Oct. 23, 1936 to Noah B Lackey and Beatrice Sadler Lackey in Anarene, Texas. Peggy had seven brothers and sisters. Peggy graduated from Graham High School in 1955. Peggy married her devoted husband Steward “SF” Damron in Fort Worth, Texas on June 29, 1956.

Peggy greatest joy in her life was her family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors in her beautiful gardens. She learned the art of quilting from her mother and she created dozens of amazing quilts. Peggy was active in her church, Loving Baptist Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and VBS.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Steward “SF” Damron, her parents, her brothers James Harrell Lackey and Douglas Lackey and her sisters Virginia Baker and Donna Kay Rife.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Monica Richardson and husband Rick of Granbury; Granddaughter Stephanie Sampler and husband Craig of Granbury, Grandsons Clayton Richardson and wife Jessica of Burleson, Matthew Buckler and wife Sara of Buda, and Patrick Richardson and wife Kate of Benbrook; Great Grandchildren Nicholas Buckler, Channing Cheatham, Spencer Sampler and Knox Buckler; brother Junior Lackey and wife Nita of Georgetown, Texas; sisters Dortha Lackey of Abilene, Texas and Susie Wells of Abilene, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
