Gale was born Aug. 1, 1937 in Graham to Iva (Davis) and Wesley Jefferson Barnett. After graduating from Graham High School in 1955, he married Joyce Virginia Bone on Oct. 28, 1956. They had two children Elaine (Buddy) Wright and Brian (Vickie) Barnett.
He answered the call to the ministry and pastored in the Church of God for 26 years in Omaha, Nebraska, Pueblo, Colorado, and Grand Junction, Colorado.
